Donald E. Harrison, 69, a native and resident of Foley, died Friday, May 22, 2009.
He retired from the U.S. Navy as a C.W.O. 4, after 26 years. He drove for McClendon Truck Lines, and was a local author of Vines Creek. He liked to fish, travel and farm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Emma Jean Harrison, and a brother, Richard Harrison.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Harrison of Foley; son, Donovan (Patti) Harrison of Foley; daughter, Michele (Milton) Cross of Foley; two sisters, Hazel (Bob) Heflin of Vichy, Mo., and Sandy (Fred) Johnson of Whitehouse Fork; brother, Roy (Jan) Harrison of Yuma, Ariz.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Foley. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
