Barbara Slaughter Harrison, 53, of Fairhope, died Thursday, April 23, 2009 at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope after fighting a lengthy battle with Guillain-Barre Syndrome.
She was born Feb. 13, 1956 in Tulsa, Olka. She was a 1973 graduate of Murphy High School of Mobile and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in mathematics and computer science from the University of South Alabama in 1976. She had a lifelong career as systems engineer for Scott Paper Company in Alabama and Pennsylvania.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Harrison of Fairhope; two sonss, Jeffrey Mason (Jennifer) Knox of Arden, N.C., and Daniel Harrison Knox of Hammond, La.’ two sisters, Katherine (Hilton) Wade of Silverhill and Elizabbeth (William) Erwin of Montrose; two grandchildren, two nieces and four nephews.
Visitation begins at noon with funeral services at 1 p.m. Monday, April 27 at Rock Springs Baptist Church with Dr. W. Clayton Hoffman officiating. Burial will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Hilton Wade, William Erwin, Patrick Wade, Ronnie Parten, Ethan Parten and William Parten.
