Harrison Lee Mosley, 71, passed away Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 after a nearly four-year battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 20, 1942 in Bay County, Fla. to Arvie Lee and Rosa Lee Mosley, both deceased, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.

Mr. Mosley had lived most of his life in Escambia and Walton counties in Florida, but also lived in Baldwin County and Clay County, Miss.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, a very compassionate and giving person and servant of God.

He truly believed that a person’s integrity was everything and made an example of this in the way he lived his life.

He was a general contractor most of his life. Mr. Mosley loved carpentry work, operating equipment doing earthwork, calf-roping, fishing and gardening.

Lee graduated from Tate High School in Cantonment, Fla. and joined the Army.

On June 27, 1964, he married wife Linda Sue Mosley, and at the time of his death they were approaching sharing 50 years of respect and love together.

They have three children, Chyrl Ann Mosley of Nashville, Tenn., Jefferson Lee Mosley of Maben, Miss. and Harrison Heath Mosley (wife Michele Mosley) of Maben, Miss.

Mr. Mosley was most proud of his five grandsons, Jonathan Dillon Mosley, Jefferson Call Mosley, Franklin Lee “Guss” Mosley, Zachariah Cordell Mosley and Peyton Elliot Mosley; and his granddaughter, River Mackenzie Rogers. He loved his grandchildren very much and delighted in witnessing their lives unfolding.

Mr. Mosley had a sister, Ruby Sheets (husband William Sheets Sr.) of DeFuniak Springs, Fla. and another sister, Wynell Ropke (husband Rev. Carl Ropke) of Atmore; brother, Charles Junior Mosley (deceased) (wife Lillian Mosley) of Pensacola and another brother, James Donald Mosley (wife Linda F. Mosley) of DeFuniak Springs.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Cluster Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, 1333 County Hwy. 1084, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433, with the Rev. (and cherished friend) Joel N. Firey officiating.

Burial will follow at Cluster Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Special thanks to his caregivers, Patricia Anderson Cannon, Ruby Sheets, other loving family members, caring friends and the wonderful people at Gentiva Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you might make a donation instead to the American Cancer Society in Mr. Mosley’s memory.

Arrangements by Clary-Glenn Funeral Home, DeFuniak Springs.
