Harry Edward Crawford passed peacefully on Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at the William F. Green State Veterans Home in Bay Minette.

A native of Taylorville, Ill., the Navy brought him to PNAS where he became the first Navy flight instructor for Barin Field in Baldwin County.

He managed Safe Harbor Marina in Orange Beach during the ‘60s and ‘70s, then dabbled in real estate.

He was a founding member and actor of the South Baldwin Chamber Theater, an avid showman and lover of big bands.

He taught dance classes to school groups and senior citizens throughout the community.

He is survived by daughters, Ann Crawford and Jill McGuire of Elberta; and grandchildren, Daniel and Trudie McGuire, and Aylin Kerimoglu.

Visitation with the family will be at noon on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, followed by a 1 p.m. service at the First Presbyterian Church of Foley.
