Evelyn Gilbert Hastings, 85, a native and resident of the Pine Grove community of Bay Minette, died Friday, March 11, 2010 at Oakwood Nursing Home in Bay Minette.
She was a retired U.S.D.A. egg inspector.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hallard Hastings; and one grandson, Hallard Samuel “Hal” Bray.
Survivors include seven children, Joyce Hastings (Sam) Bray of Columbus, Miss., Lloyd G. (Joan) Hastings of Bay Minette, Norma (Bob) Wiser of Helena, C.R. “Bobby” (Janet) Hastings of Orange Beach, Randall Hastings of Pine Grove, Lisa (George) Pritchett of Brooklyn, Ala., and Lucy (Carlos) Compain of Houston; 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; brother, Morris (Gayleene) Gilbert of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Helen Plato of Bay Minette and Alice (Pete) Duffee of Bay Minette.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at Norris Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 14 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Dunn officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Randy Hastings, Dustin Hastings, Vince Wiser, Chalie Compain, Albert Hastings and Daniel Rachiele.
Arrangements are by Norris Funeral Home, Bay Minette.
