Hattie Belle Lambert, sunrise, March 11, 1920 to sunset, Dec. 17, 2014.

Hattie Belle or Habbie as she was called by those who loved her, was born in Montrose, and lived her full entire life in Daphne.

She was a charter member of the Shrine of the Holy Cross Catholic Parish. Her life dedication was children. She was a birth mother to seven and a mother to many.

Her greatest love was after raising her children to adulthood. She went back to school and became certified in early childhood development, and was lovingly involved with Project Head Start at the Shrine.

All her accolades were many and too long to list. They can best be summed up in an article once published in the Mobile Register where an interviewee referred to her as “All the Mommas Momma.”

She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Malinda Johnson; her brothers, Fred and Thomas Leroy Johnson; her sister, Nellie F. Dale; her husband, Ed Brown Lambert; and her eldest son, Ed Daniel Lambert.

She is survived by children, Myrtle Porter, Fred MacArthur Lambert, Marie V. Lambert, Mildred Lambert (Larry) Haynes, Larry A. Lambert Sr. and Arnetta Lambert-Sims; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, relatives and dear friends, and she held each as very special.

The public viewing will be from 9 until 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2014 at the Shrine of the Holy Cross Catholic Parish, 612 Main St. in Daphne, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10, with the Rev. Lito Capeding as celebrant.

Interment will follow in Montrose Cemetery.

Arrangements by Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Daphne.
