Mary Celia Striebel Hayward, 89, a native of Quincy, Mass., and a resident of Elberta, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008.
She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, active in Braille Ministry, and a volunteer at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Cameron Hayward.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Jimmy) Kaiser of Elberta; son, Lewis H. (Sharon) Hayward of Tequesta, Fla.; brother, William Striebel of Dalton, Mass.; six grandchildren, Mary Ann Maurin of Elberta, Dr. Julie Cleverdon of Foley, Jennifer Woodley of Thorsby, Mindy Jones of Elberta, Christopher Hayward of North Palm Beach, Fla., and Trisha Hayward of Orlando, Fla.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, Elberta with the Rev. Keith Ringers officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mark's Lutheran Cemetery.
