FAIRHOPE, Ala. — A report received by the Baldwin County Health Department from the city of Fairhope Utilities Department states that due to an electrical outage, the Fairfield lift station on County Road 44 overflowed Sept. 1.
The incident resulted in an estimated 300 gallons of sewage being discharged into Cowpen Creek.
As always, the health department urges residents to exercise caution if using this water body for recreational purposes.
It is important to also thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught nearby, and wash your hands after handling fish or seafood.
