ROBERTSDALE, Ala. — According to a report received today by the Baldwin County Health Department, a manhole on College Street in Robertsdale, Alabama overflowed due to heavy rainfall yesterday.

Also, lightening damaged a lift station control panel which caused an estimated 400,000 gallons of sewage being discharged. These events resulted in sewage being discharged into Rock Creek. The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Rock Creek for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.

For information on the sewage spill call Robertsdale Utilities at 947-8950.
