According to a report received by the Baldwin County Health Department, heavy rainfall has caused a manhole and the retention pond at the sewage treatment plant
to overflow in Loxley, Alabama. The overflows resulted in sewage being discharged to
ditches that feed into Corn Branch and Blackwater River. The health department urges residents to exercise caution when using these bodies of water for recreational purposes.
Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught nearby and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
