Health Department issues public notice on sewage spill in Foley area

FOLEY, Ala. — According to a report received today by the Baldwin County Health Department from Riviera Utilities, a sewage spill occurred in the Foley area on East Section Street. Due to heavy rain, a manhole overflowed and resulted in an estimated 5000 gallons of sewage being discharged into Wolf Creek. The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Wolf Creek for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
