ROBERTSDALE, Alabama -- According to a report received Monday by the Baldwin County Health Department, due to heavy rainfall this past weekend in Robertsdale, a lift station and manhole overflowed.
The overflow began at noon Sunday, June 23 and is ongoing. The overflow resulted in an estimated 10,000 to 100,000 gallons of sewage being discharged into Rock Creek.
The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Rock Creek for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught nearby and wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
