Health Department issues public sewer spill notice

Posted

According to a report sent by the city of Fairhope this morning to the Baldwin County Health Department, a transducer problem at the East of the Sun Lift Station at Spring Lake Drive caused more than 1,000 gallons of untreated sewage to be discharged into Cowpen Creek.

The Health Department urges residents to exercise caution if using this body of water for recreational purposes. Any fish or seafood caught nearby should be thoroughly cooked, and one should always wash their hands after handling fish or seafood.
