Hedwig Elizabeth Bitto Summers, 93, departed this life on Aug. 19, 2014.
Heddy was preceded in death by her brother, John Bitto of Elberta; and her sister, Caroline Bitto Neumann of Elberta.
After a decline in health she felt ready to be reunited with her husband, Atmer Wayne (Barney) Summers, and was laid to rest in the Elberta Public Cemetery by his side.
Heddy and Barney were married for 48 years, and are survived by a daughter, Jeanne Summers Smith; three granddaughters, Amy (David) Fraze, Laura (Nikki) Porter and Callie Smith; as well as eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, all of Dozier.
She lives on in the hearts of her family, including her nephew, David Bitto; and her nieces, Gayle Neumann Robinson and Diane Neumann Sims; along with their children.
