Nell C. Heins, 88, a native of Palos, and a resident of Mobile, died Thursday, April 17, 2008 at a local hospital.
She attended the University of Alabama and graduated from Huntington College. She taught third grade for eight years in Montgomery.
She worked as an accountant for the State of Alabama, retiring in 1996 from the State Attorney General's Office. She retired to Orange Beach with her husband. She volunteered with the Literacy Council, she was an Elder of the Orange Beach Presbyterian Church. She was active in the Women of The Church, serving as President, and other Offices. Mrs. Heins was a volunteer at the Former Knollwood Hospital in Mobile.
She was preceded in death by her husband William C. Heins, and two brothers.
Survivors include a daughter Adelia Heins Cox, of Mobile; granddaughter, Kari Lynn Cox of Mobile; sister, Mary Agnes Whorton, of Dadeville.
Graveside services and burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday April 21 at Pine Rest Memorial Park Foley.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Orange Beach Presbyterian Church, or the charity of your choice.
