The second graders at Newton School sponsored a towel, blanket and coin drive for The Haven in Fairhope. The second graders collected blankets, towels, pet toys and other needed supplies for the animals waiting to be adopted. The second graders were able to collect $633.00 in loose coin to help care for the animals by challenging students at Newton to bring in as much loose coins and the class that collected the most would win a snow cone party! The Haven is the second grade students community project that they look forward to working on each year! Receiving the check in the amount of $633.00 for The Haven is Executive Director Mr. Michael Graham, Jasper (in his arms), and Maddie, The Haven’s mascot.
