Henry Legrone, 82, a native of Perry County and a resident of Silverhill, passed away Feb. 14, 2014.
Mr. Legrone served in the United Stated Army.
He retired from civil service after first working at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile and then Naval Air Station Pensacola.
His second retirement came after he worked at Silverhill Elementary School for several years.
Mr. Legrone was a volunteer with the Silverhill Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
He enjoyed being involved with his childrens’ activities, including being an assistant troop leader for Silverhill Boy Scouts, coaching Little League Baseball and Tiny Mite Football.
He was a devout Alabama fan.
Mr. Legrone was the eighth in a family of 11 children, and is preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Janette Legrone of Silverhill; four sons, Mike (Marlene) Legrone of Daphne, Patrick (Barbara) Legrone of Fairhope, Joseph (Clara) Legrone of Birmingham and Sean Legrone of Silverhill; four sisters, Virginia Rush of Selma, Catherine McKee of Trussville, Myrna Lassinger of Mobile and Reta Smitherman of Selma; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Mack Funeral Home in Robertsdale, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Fairhope Memory Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Silverhill Volunteer Fire Department.
