Henry Rayvon "Ray" Beasley, 74, a lifelong resident of Foley, Alabama, passed away Feb. 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his wife, sons and family members following a battle with cancer.

Ray was born on Sept. 30, 1942 in McKenzie, Alabama to Henry Kenton Beasley and Gladys (Ealum) Beasley, who both preceded him in death.

Ray is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Jeannette Marie (Young) Beasley, his sons, Tommy Ray (Cindy) Beasley of Foley, Alabama, Randy Ray (Lynn) Beasley of Silverhill, Alabama and Gary Ray (Susan) Beasley of Foley, Alabama; grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Patrick, Tyler, Andrew and Lauren; and four great-grandchildren; brothers, Ronald (Tess) Beasley, Pensacola, Florida and Kenny "Ken" Beasley (girlfriend Anna), Irvington, Alabama; several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Ray was also preceded in death by a great-grandchild; and brother, Kenton Lamar (Rose) Beasley of Foley, Alabama.

After Ray grew up and worked on the farm, he made a lifelong career in the automotive paint and body repair and worked as a manager at a local GM dealership.

There are many fond memories his sons share as Ray would repair and paint their bicycles, motorcycles and then their own cars as they were growing up.

Later in life Ray took advantage of his CDLs and traveled the country driving the 18-wheeler "big rig" trucks, a passion that he and his wife shared together for several years prior to his retirement.

Ray was an avid fisherman and loved to spend his retirement years fishing and camping with the family at Open Pond Recreational Area near Andalusia, Alabama.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. with services beginning at 2 p.m. at Pine Rest Funeral Home in Foley, Alabama, with Rev.  John Mathew Hodge presiding.

Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park, 16541 U.S. Hwy. 98, Foley, AL.
