Herbert Walter Wilson, 87, born in Stapleton and a resident of Bay Minette, died Wednesday, March 31, 2015 at his residence.
He worked track maintenance for the railroad company.
He is survived by his wife, Myretter (Hodges) Wilson of Bay Minette; his children, Wade (Gale) Wilson of Phillipsville, Gail (Louie) Wright of Stapleton, Diane Wilson of Bay Minette, Jeff (Betty) Wilson of Bay Minette, Joe (Linda) Wilson of Decatur, Mich., Audrey (Robert) Seale of Loxley and Charity Wilson Adam of Bay Minette; three brothers, the Rev. Henry Wilson of Perdido, Clyde Wilson of Stapleton and Jerald Wilson of Stapleton; five sisters, Irene Melton of Stapleton, Mary D. Kelly of Malbis, Bobbie Byrd of Stapleton, Virginia Harris of Wetumpka and Margie Blair of Stapleton; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke B. and Lelia Head Wilson; a son, Wayne Wilson; two grandsons, Jarrod and Aubrey Miller; a son-in-law, Arthur Miller; three brothers; and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 2 p.m., at Bankester Cemetery in Bromley, with the Rev. Henry Wilson officiating.
The family will receive friends Thursday, April 2, 2015, from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m., at Norris Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Wilson, Jason Wilson, Kameron Burt, Larry Granger, Adam Catrett and Matthew Johnson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robbie Seale and Dewayne Wilson.
