MOBILE – Fairhope fell on a Williamson onside kick with one minute to play, then ran out the clock to preseve a 16-14 win in Class 6A Region 2 play on Thursday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium.

Fairhope place kicker Nick Cutrone hit three of four field goals to lead the Pirates (6-3, 5-1). Cuttrone hit from 29, 38 and 20 yards and made an extra point to account for 10 of Fairhope’s 16 points against the Lions, who fell to 2-8 overall and 2-5 in Region 2.

Fairhope scored first on its opening drive. The Pirates started at the Williamson 34 and scored five plays later on a 1-yard run from Tanner Martin.

With 3:57 to play in the first half, Williamson quarterback Marcus Riley connected with Kevin Brown for a 79-yard touchdown. The Lions missed a two-point try.

Cutrone’s 29-yarder gave the Pirates a 10-6 lead at the break, and his two other field goals put the Pirates up 16-6 late in the fourth.

Williamson drove 86 yards in seven plays, capped by a Riley to Christopher Caldwell shovel pass for a touchdown near the one-minute mark. The Lions made the two-point conversion to pull within two at 16-14.

Fairhope will host Davidson on Thursday at 7 p.m.

Gulf Shores 42

Faith Academy 21

MOBILE – Brandon Silvers threw for 353 yards and five touchdowns as Gulf Shores beat Faith Academy 42-21 and earned its first Class 5A Region 1 win of the year.

Josh Carroll rushed for 123 yards in the win and the Dolphins gained 469 yards of total offense.

Gulf Shores hosts Bayside Academy on Friday at 7 p.m. in its season finale.

Bayside Academy 57

Excel 20

Camp Campbell threw for 307 yards and six touchdowns in the first half as Bayside Academy defeated Excel 57-20 on Friday in 3A Region 1 play.

Geoffrey Stinebaugh had three touchdown catches and 113 receiving ards in the win.

Ryan Owens had a rushing touchdown.

Bayside (7-2, 5-2) plays at Gulf Shores on Friday at 7 p.m.

Foley 34

Satsuma 16

SATSUMA – Kalif Koen had two rushing touchdowns and Foley got an 80-yard touchdown on a kickoff return from Cedrix Reed as the Lions defeated Satsuma 34-16 in 6A Region 2 play on Friday.

D’Marsjae Casey added a 32-yard touchdown run, and quarterback Darius Powell connected with Bob Pugh for a 36-yard score.

Foley (7-2, 5-2) travel to Northport to face the Tuscaloosa County Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m.
