Reitas Webster Hines, 87, a native of Whigham, Ga., and a resident of Silverhill, died Saturday, Sept. 5, 2009.
He served in the U.S. Army and is a World War II veteran and a long time member and deacon of the Summerdale First Baptist Church. He worked at Brookley Air Force Base and later at Pensacola Naval Air Station where he retired.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Hines of Silverhill; daughter, Anna Gail Boros of Silverhill; two sons, Ronald W. Hines of Foley and Bill I. Hines of Milton, Fla.; sister, Almeda “Boots” Donaldson of Pell City; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Sept. 8 from the chapel of Mack Funeral Home with the Rev. George Underwood and the Rev. Jason Smith officiating. Burial followed at Wynn Cemetery in Summerdale.
Arrangements were made by Mack Funeral Home and Crematory, Robertsdale.
