MOBILE, Ala. – The 18th Mobile Cross Country Challenge of Champions fielded a strong contingent from all over the southeast at Langhan Park in Mobile. But the fiercest competitor may have been the weather.

The two-day event concluded with the boys and girls invitational on a brutally hot and humid afternoon Saturday.

St. Paul's girls and McGill-Toolen's boys took the team honors.

Individually, the two Old Shell Road schools traded top-spots as St. Paul's Stuart Graham repeated as individual boys champ at 16:23 while Mc-T's Carmen Carlos won her second-straight title in 18:45.

Baldwin County's top medal finishers included Fairhope's Shawn Hinton 11th, Pirate teammate Nick Fasanello 14th and Spanish Fort's Trevor Stevens 15th in the boys invite. Charlotte Gill of Bayside Academy medaled at 15th in the girls invite race. In the open girls division, Daphne's Rebecca Pober took eighth, Fairhope's Amanda Pierce 14th and Kayla Olson 15th for DHS.

For the open boys, Bayside's Ryan Shankle was fifth and Jordan Moore of Fairhope was sixth.
