HIPPY Program to provide Free Home Instruction

Posted

HIPPY is a program that provides free home instruction for parents with pre-school youngsters. We held our first parent orientation meeting in December 2011. We will begin visiting participating families January 2012. The program’s goal is to prepare pre-school children, ages 3, 4, and 5, for kindergarten by empowering parents to be their childs first teacher. Hippy assists communities and families by increasing school readiness for pre-schoolers.

This is accomplished through weekly visits by home trainers who provide instruction to parents. The skills taught include basic beginning school readiness activities. The program is free to those who qualify. HIPPY is funded through grants and private donations. If you are interested in learning more about this program or would like to make a donation, you may contact us by phone at 251-504-1081 or read about us on our web site at www.hippyalabama.com.
