DAPHNE, Ala.—The Baldwin County Historical Society will meet at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 31 at the Old Methodist Church Museum of Daphne, 405 Dryer Ave.
The authors of the newly released book, “Baldwin County,” will present a PowerPoint presentation of archival photographs capsuling the county’s history. Many photographs were collected by Wilson Duck of Bay Minette more than 50 years ago. John Lewis, of Bay Minette, has preserved the collection, adding many family photographs from throughout the county.
Harriet Outlaw, retired educator, has added text and research information to create an anecdotal document telling the story of many of the earliest residents of the county, focusing on the ethnic backgrounds of the people who immigrated to the place where the land meets the sea.
The program highlights a timeline of Baldwin County history and celebrates 200 years of the county.
Light refreshments will be provided. Admission is free and the public is welcome.
