DAPHNE, Ala. — The Daphne Public Library has announced the following events and activities for May.

Ellis, also known as Calvin Clyde, has chronicled Orville and Calvin’s misadventures for more than a decade. Over a million readers of Golf Today magazine followed the two cousins from somewhere in lower Alabama, as they schemed, cheated and usually gotten their just deserts, on golf courses all over America.  Phillip, an avid golfer and storyteller, who’s always asked where he comes up with those stories, explains Clyde’s saga as “warped observations of a life spent watching people. Real life is always stranger than fiction.” Ellis has written columns and articles for several noted publications, and for the past 11 years has served as publisher of a regional Gulf Coast golf magazine. Books will be available for signing.
