Mary Katherine Holder of Gulf Shores and Gaines Bernard Johnson of Foley were united in marriage July 10 at Gulf Shores United Methodist Church. Dr. William Vincent Johnson Sr. officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. Samuel Wilson Holder Sr. and Mrs. Deborah Perrigin Holder. She is a graduate of Gulf Shores High School; Samford University; and is a Kindergarten Teaching Fellow at KIPP SHINE Prep, Houston, Texas.

The bridegroom is the son of Dr. William Vincent Johnson Sr. and Mrs. Cheryl Shuff Johnson. He is a graduate of Gulf Shores High School and Samford University. He teaches fifth grade at the KIPP Academy Middle School, Houston, Texas.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Samuel Wilson Holder, Sr. Stephanie Dianne Clay of Birmingham was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were: Taylor Grace Langford Blalock, Orange Beach; Cammie Alysa Boller, Orange Beach; Marianne Mims Carlson of Tuscaloosa; Courtney Marie Corcoran of Gulf Shores; Rachel Marie Greer of Gulf Shores; Julie Frances Key, Gulf Shores and Rebecca Sloan Schmidtke, Birmingham.

Honorary bridesmaids were: Kaitlin Alexandra Conway of Maitland, Florida; Kaylee Deann Hayworth of Memphis, Tennessee; Lauren Renee Howard of Birmingham and Kathryn Mann Phillips of Nashville, Tenn.

The best man was William Vincent Johnson Jr. of Statesboro, Georgia. Groomsmen were: Paul Bradley Anderson, Jacksonville, Fla.; Daniel Grant Blackburn, Montrose, Ala. Patrick Kyle Brown, Gulf Shores; Samuel Wilson Holder, Jr, Gulf Shores; Darrell Allen Kent Demopolis, Ala.; Michael Patrick Krombach, Ponte Vedre Beach, Fla. and William Robert Weaver, Auburn, Ind.

Ushers were: John Maddox Ellis, Jefferson City, Tenn.; Stephen Reinaldo Tirador, Gulf Shores, Andrew William Walworth, Fort Payne, Ala. and Jonathan David Wohlwend, Knoxville, Tenn.

Music for the ceremony was provided by Irene Walker, organist; Pam Winstead, vocalist; Marshall Richards, vocalist and Garrett Carter, trumpet. The reception was held at Craft Farms Clubhouse and The Kicks of Nashville, Tenn. provided entertainment.

After a wedding trip to Jamaica, the couple will reside in Houston, Texas.
