George Hiram Hollingsworth, 68, a native of Dyas, and a resident of Saraland, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at his residence.
He was a parts manager with Mark Dodge in Mobile, Wilson’s Chevrolet, Roley Motor Company, and many auto parts retailers in South Alabama. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Hollingsworth of Saraland; four daughters, Dana Wilson of Tillmans Corner, Susie (Michael) McCrory of Bay Minette, Kimberly (Robert) Lamey and Jackie (Jimmie) Salac of Chickasaw; son, James Padgett of Ponce DeLeon, Fla.; step-son, Jerry Galloway of Mobile; two brothers, Jimmy (Lois) Hollingsworth and Ray (Bettigrey) Hollingsworth, both of Dyas; brother-in-law, Jerry Griffith of Millbrooke; three sisters, Jean (Wally) Diedtrich of Bay Minette, Jo Ann (Buddy) Byrd of Stapleton and Janet (Steve) Caraway of Bay Minette; and 10 grandchildren, Ashleigh, Noel, Drake, Ayden, Savannah, Dillon, Matthew, Marissa, Kristopher and Branen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 from the chapel of Norris Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Hadley officiating. Burial will follow Bay Minette Cemetery. Military honors will be rendered at graveside by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guards.
Active pallbearers will be Brian Hollingsworth, Rickey, Hollinsworth, Marcus Byrd, Steve Caraway, Curtis Joiner and B.J. Byrd. Honorary were Robert Lamey, Michael McCrory and Wally Diedtrich.
