Homer “Benny” Brown, 92, a native of Oglethorpe, Ga., formerly of Montgomery and a resident of Bay Minette, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Mr. Brown served in the United States Navy, and was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War.
He loved to dance, fish and was a great storyteller.
Mr. Brown was a terrific grandfather who truly enjoyed his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie.
He is survived by two daughters, Vicki Griffin of Lillian and Cindy B. Milligan of Covington, Ga.; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and longtime friend, Anita Clausen of Birmingham.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 11 a.m., at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the W.F. Green State Veterans Home, 300 Faulkner Dr., Bay Minette, AL 36507.
