On Oct. 4 the Orange Beach Community Center Association hosted its annual awards dinner honoring the local Police Department and Fire Department. Awards were presented to an outstanding member of each department chosen by his or her colleagues. Firefighter of the Year was presented by Fire Chief Forney Howard to Lt. Bruce Nelson, left, firefighter/medic with the Orange Beach Fire Department. He has been with the City since 1999. Policeman of the Year was presented by Police Chief David Williams to Sgt. David McLain, investigator with the Orange Beach Police Department. He has been with the City since 1995.
