FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Colony at the Grand will launch a hot air balloon over Fairhope during the Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday, giving spectators a colorful, breathtaking site in the sky. On Sunday, however, spectators can become participants and enjoy a hot air balloon adventure, with proceeds benefiting the Fairhope Educational Enrichment Foundation.

Tethered balloon rides will be offered March 22 from 8 to 10 a.m., on the grounds of Colony at the Grand, a luxury condominium complex in Fairhope. The cost is $10 for children and $20 for adults, with all proceeds going to FEEF.

“The Fairhope Arts and Crafts Festival is such a colorful, high-energy weekend,” Jason Tickle of Colony at the Grand said. “We wanted to do something fun to add to the festival’s energy, and maybe give folks a chance to do something they’ve never done. The view will be spectacular, and the ride will be thrilling. We chose FEEF as the recipient of the proceeds because it benefits so many and adds so much to the quality of life in Fairhope.”

Colony at the Grand is located at 6401 Battles Road, off County Road 32 in south Fairhope.
