ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The Hot Shop’s Spring-Summer schedule for ‘Hot Glass Blowout’ is set for five dates May to August.

The first of this is Friday from 5-7 p.m. at the Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach on Canal Road.

During the Blowouts, resident glass artist Sam Cornman and friends will demonstrate the fascinating art of glass blowing. Watch molten glass transform into a vase or even a fish while sipping complimentary beverages from your hand blown drinking glass.

The hand blown glasses come in a variety of colors and cost $20. While purchase of a glass is not a requirement, the Hot Glass Blowout serves as a fundraiser for The Hot Shop and donations are appreciated, according to Coordinator Wanda Price.

The Hot Shop is the state’s only public access glass blowing studio.

To sign up for the Make Your Own Glass Experience call Coastal Arts Center of Orange Beach at 251-981-2787. To see a list of classes available visit the website at www.orangebeachartscenter.com. You can also keep up with The Hot Shop by following its Facebook page.

Hot Glass Blowouts are from 5-7 p.m. and the dates are Thursday June 14, Thursday July 5, Friday July 20 and Thursday Aug. 2.
