July 4 is upon us — why not make some homemade ice cream to enjoy with friends and family?

Peach ice cream

• 2 cups mashed peaches
• 1 cup sugar
• Juice of 1 lemon
• 1 quart milk
• 1 can sweetened, condensed milk
• ½ pint whipping cream
• 1 pint half-and-half
• 1 cup sugar
• 2 teaspoons vanilla

Mix peaches, 1 cup sugar and lemon juice. Let sit in refrigerator for 1 hour. Combine milk, condensed milk, whipping cream, half-and-half, 1 cup sugar and vanilla. Pour in freezer can and freeze to mushy consistency. Add peach mixture and freeze hard. Remove freezer can, cover and place in the freezer. Allow to freeze until ready to serve.
