Margaret Helen Howe of Fairhope, born Feb. 5, 1924 in in Sturgis, Mich., died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 at a local nursing facility.
She was raised in Bucyrus, Ohio, and was a graduate of a local business college in Bucyrus.
She married Bill Howe and they lived in Shamrock, Texas, for over 50 years, where they raised their five children. She was actively involved in her community and church, St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, until 2002 when she and her husband moved to Fairhope.
She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope. Her lifetime occupation was homemaker, housewife, mother and devoted grandmother. She fulfilled these roles with love and honor.
She was precded in death by her husband of over 60 years, Bill Howe on March 17, 2006, St. Patrick’s Day.
Survivors include five children, Carol Pritchett of Fairhope, Claudia Hutson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jack Howe of Lyons, Texas, Kathy Grover of Dallas, and Larry Howe of Sherevport, La.; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; has two sisters, Ruth Cooper of Corinth, Texas, and Anna Marie Miller of Clearwater, Fla.; and a brother, Col. William L. Haaser of Carson City, Nev.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Fairhope. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
