Dudley McLeod Howell, 80, a native and resident of Bay Minette, died Sunday, May 16, 2010 at his residence.
He was principal at Loxley Middle School for 37 years before his retirement, where he was also the basketball coach.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Walker Howell of Bay Minette; two daughter, Sue Howell (David) Phillips of Spanish Fort and Mary Alyce Howell of Bay Minette; friend of the family, Dawn Jilly of Bay Minette; brother, Robert Wayne Howell of Lake Martin; sister, Eloise Howell McDonald of Bay Minette; two grandchildren, Walker Phillips and Audra Phillips; a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 18 at the First Baptist Church, Bay Minette. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 19 at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Chip Starnes, the Rev. Bill Carr and the Rev. Dr. Henry Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Stockton Memorial Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Mike Dawkins, Mac McDonald, Banks Howell, Steve Chrstenberry, David Sjoberg and Thomas Branch.
