Howell DeWayne Vines, 66, known as Wayne to his many friends, died Sunday, June 15, 2014.
He was a beloved father, husband, grandfather, brother and son, proud Marine and LSU alumnus.
He will be deeply missed, carried close to our hearts and always remembered for his joyful spirit and love of life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Erskine and Ruth Vines; and brother, Kenneth “KV” Vines.
He is survived by his wife, Angela Hammond Vines; daughters, Emily Vines Pierce and Natalie Vines Matthews; grandsons, Dylan Pierce and Miller Matthews; granddaughter, Claire Pierce; brother, Erskine Vines Jr.; sister, Charlotte Krajniak; and sons-in-law, Brent Pierce and Shane Matthews.
His memorial service will be held at Stockton United Methodist Church on Friday, June 20, 2014, at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations to the Fisher House Foundation in his name (www.fisherhouse.org). The Fisher House provides comfort to military families while a loved one is receiving medical care.
