ORANGE BEACH, Ala. - Greg and Susie Leatherbury played hosts to a party to celebrate the legacy of Hubert Low and the Low family at his home on Bayou St. John. The Low family were Orange Beach pioneers and lived on property the Leatherburys now own. The Lows moved to Australia in 1967, Greg said. Hubert's son, Wally, made inquires about visiting the old home place and scattering some of his parents ashes in the Bayou St. John waters. Leatherbury still had the old sign Hubert hung on the dock to attract customers to his fishing charter business. A full story will be in Tuesday's Islander and posted on gulfcoastnewstoday.com sometime this weekend. (JOHN MULLEN/Islander Photos)
