Hugh Charles McCaffrey, 95, a native of Cleveland and a resident of Fairhope, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 in Fairhope.
He retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1974 and was a member of the Retired Officers Association.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leatrice S. McCaffrey; and a son, Phillip McCaffrey.
Survivors include a son, Brian J. (Sylvia Yee) McCaffrey of San Francisco; daughter, Charlotte L. (Phyllis Hoffman) of El Cerrito, Calif.; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew McCaffrey.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope. A private interment will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial donations be made to Southern Poverty Law Center, 400 Washington Ave., Montgomery, AL 36104.
