ROBERTSDALE, Ala. – Part informational, part giving back to the community, Campbell Hardware will host its second annual Hunting Expo on Saturday, Aug. 20.

“We’re doing this as a service to our customers,” said Ashley Kucera. “With hunting season approaching, this is a way to demonstrate the latest equipment and apparel for our customers.”

According to Outdoor Alabama’s website, bow, arrow and spear season for deer is open Oct. 15 through Jan. 31. Muzzle loaded hunting in Alabama on privately owned or leased land and National Forest Service Land is open Nov. 14-18.

Hunting for unantlered deer on privately owned or leased land is open from Nov. 19 through Jan. 31 and on open permit and public land from Dec. 17 through Jan. 1.

Hunting for antlered bucks with or without dogs is open from Nov. 19 through Jan. 15 and without dogs only from Jan. 16-31.

Representatives from Mossy Oak, Browning, Big Dog Treestands, Pearson and Zeiss will be on hand Saturday providing product demonstrations, Kucera said, and with the edition this year of its own indoor archery range, there will also be a demonstration of the latest bow hunting equipment.

Campbell’s will also offer in-house specials only offered on Saturday, Kucera said. There will also be drawings for door prizes.

The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at Campbell Hardware, located on Highway 59 in Robertsdale. The archery demonstration is set to begin at 9 a.m.

Kucera, who is also on the Board of Directors of the Central Baldwin Educational Foundation, also sees Saturday’s expo as an opportunity to give back to local teachers.

The CBEF will be on hand, selling sausage dogs, pizza, chips and drinks will all proceeds benefitting local schools.
