Fairhope United Methodist Church held a prayer service yesterday morning at 8:30 to remember the thousands who lost their lives or loved ones in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. The program included a prayer by Cecil Harvell, retired technical advisor for Command and Control Communications, Headquarters, United States Air Force; a vocal solo by Rev. Joe Bullington, church pastor; and several hymns. The organist played a 21-chime salute in tribute to the members of the New York City police departments and firefighters who died that day. The American flags decorating the platform were arranged and loaned by resident Tom Odom.
