Ingrid Kristina “Inky” Barnes, 88, a native of Wellsville, N.Y. and resident of Daphne, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014.
Inky was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Daphne. She was a graduate of Wellsville High School and attended Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
Inky was also the church secretary at St. John’s Evangelist Catholic Church for 15 years.
Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Barnes.
She is survived by her daughter, Debra Rene’ (Joseph) Hemmerich of Sparta, Wis.; sons, Brian David Karlsson-Barnes of Boston, Mass. and Douglas Mark (Margie) Barnes of Loxley; sisters, Maj Britt of Willow Street, Pa. and Inga Britt of New Berlin, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Josh (Nikki) Hemmerich, Jessica (Kyle) Erickson, Kristina Barnes and Stephan Barnes; nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in Jubilee Memorial Gardens at a later date.
