I would like to know if the city of Fairhope is going to allow Dorgan’s Inn to hold the events that they have booked throughout next year.
Some people have put deposits down or paid in full for their special events or weddings, and some have wedding invitations already printed up. And some vendors have already been secured.
Surely the city will not cause these events not to be allowed. That would destroy a lot of families' plans. Surely the city will not be the cause of many broken hearts of those that have been dreaming of their special day at Dorgan’s Inn. People need to know.

Editor’s note: The city of Fairhope did issue a business license to Dorgan’s Inn for vacation rental and could enforce any violations of that license. However, the location, though within Fairhope’s police jurisdiction, is not within the city limits, and the owners of Dorgan’s Inn applied to the county zoning board for bed-and-breakfast status for their Point Clear site. That request was denied in August. The Point Clear Property Owners Association and a local resident have filed recent complaints with the county alleging the Dorgans are operating a business in a residential area in violation of zoning laws.
