Baldwin area teams finished out their region schedules last week, and this week they finish the regular season with a few interesting non-region matchups.

The most interesting game in Baldwin County on Friday might be at Freedom Track and Field, where the 3A Bayside Academy Admirals will host the 5A Gulf Shores Dolphins.

While it might look like a slam dunk for the surging 7-2 Dolphins and their All-World quarterback Logan Paul, the Admirals are no slouches. Bayside can run the ball with the best of them, and if the Dolphins don’t have the ball they can’t score.

Paul has 30 touchdown passes and 11 rushing touchdowns this season and passed the 2,000 yards passing mark in a 35-7 win over Faith Academy last week.

Bayside Academy throttled Central-Hayneville 49-14. The Admirals scored on offense, defense and special teams en route to the win.

In Bay Minette, the BCHS Tigers will close out their season with a game against the Theodore Bobcats. Theodore, who will host Daphne in the first round of the 6A playoffs next week, shouldn’t look past the Tigers this Friday. Running back Charleston Gandy rushed for 158 yards and two scores against McGill-Toolen last week and is a major force out of the backfield for the Tigers.

At Fairhope, the Pirates will close out the regular season with a home game against 0-9 Mary G. Montgomery. Fairhope (9-0) will likely close out the regular season with a win to improve to 10-0 for the first time since 1969, the last time the Pirates won a state championship in football.

Also in county, Robertsdale will look to get season win number 2 as the Bears host 5A’s Escambia County.

Foley (4-5) will play at Alma Bryant, Daphne (4-5) will travel to Niceville, Fla. and Spanish Fort (7-2) will play at Monroe County.
