Gulf Shores, AL. — The Coastal Baldwin Education Enrichment Foundation will have a luncheon to Monday to raise money for its technical iniative.
“This includes a digital renaissance like we’ve seen at Baldwin County High School as well as academies of learning,” Yolanda Devine-Johnson told the Gulf Shores City Council on Monday. “All of that will be wrapped into this Learning for Life (program).”
The luncheon will be at the Gulf Island Grille on East Beach Boulevard in Gulf Shores. Lunch will cost $15 with half of that amount going to CBEE.
"Angie Swiger will be speaking, giving us an update on this proposal for island schools,” Devine-Johnson said.
Devine-Johnson also announced a new iniative by the countywide Yes We Can education group.
“The coalition has decided to have a signature campaign all over the county for three reasons,” Devine-Johnson said. “One is to let the leaders in the county know that education is the number one.”
The council was also asked to support the Learning for Life program and Devine-Johnson announced a new email campaign “if you are interested in receiving a report from the education coalition as to what’s going on thoughtout the county in education.”
