J. Waylan Helms, 69, born in Mobile and a resident of Fairhope, passed away at his residence Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014.
Mr. Helms was a graduate of Murphy High School, and enjoyed golf, tennis and fishing.
He retired from Kimberly-Clark in 2005.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lana Smith; a sister, Judy White; and a brother, Anthony Helms.
Survivors include his wife, Susan of Fairhope; two daughters, Sharla (Stuart) Brink and Lori Helms both of Mobile, AL; a brother, Bobby Helms of Warner Robbins, Ga.; three grandchildren, Kayla Smith, Lundy Brink and Mae Brink; and other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014, from 2-4 p.m., at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home in Fairhope.
Graveside services will be held Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at 10 a.m., at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
