Dorothy Gump Jackson, 97, a longtime resident of Westminster Village, died Wednesday, March 19, 2008.
She was born in Bedford, Pa., and was a member of Spanish Fort Presbyterian Church.
She had co-written a Gump family genealogy book, had a deep appreciation of nature and enjoyed teaching sign language to her co-residents. She retired from the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Jean Field, Peter Gump, Frank Gump, Sharon New, Laurie Harvey and Robin Lenehan; other relatives and friends.
She will be buried beside her husband, Jaffrey Jackson, in Kansas City, Mo., at a later date.
Cremation arrangements are by Hughes Cremation & Funeral Service, Daphne.
