Gussie Lou Jackson, 80, of Bay Minette, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008 in Bay Minette.
She was a Nurse Aid with Public Health, born No. 8, 1926 in Jay, Fla., Nov. 8, 1926 to Hosea and Addie Bell Jernigan Eddins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rupert Jackson; daughter, Evelyn Sullivan; and one grandson, Ron Slate.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Garrett of Bay Minette; six grandchildren, Melanie Guy, Tony Slate, Tim Slate, Rusty Slate, Scott Owens and Stephanie Bauldree; 13 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Ricky Coon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 19, from the chapel of Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Gillman officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Jay, Fla.
Active pallbearers were, Gary Jackson, Carlton Jackson, J.J. Jerrell, Jaruls Slate, Jody Singleton and Ronnie Slate, with Ronald Jackson as alternate.
