DAPHNE, Ala. — Officer Dejuan Jackson was selected by his peers as Officer of the Quarter for the period of April to June 2010.
Jackson joined Daphne PD in August 2007 and serves the department as a patrol officer.
Jackson has shown that he is willing to forgo his convenience in an attempt to better the services provided by Daphne Police Department; he maintains professionalism in all areas and is always willing to go the extra mile for the department as well as the citizens of Daphne, a spokesperson said.
Jackson is married and is a new father.
Corrections Officer Virginia Smith was selected by her peers as Civlian of the Quarter for the same period.
Smith joined the Daphne City Jail staff in May 2007 and serves as a corrections officer.
Smith gives 100 percent effort in all that she does without a complaint; she works overtime without question and takes on additional duties with a smile, a spokesperson said.
Smith is married and has five children and 11 grandchildren.
