Jacqueline "Jackie" Quinn Barncard

Jacqueline “Jackie” Quinn Barncard, a resident of Fairhope, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.

Born July 7, 1925 and raised in Sturgis, Miss., she attended Mississippi State College for Women.

She met and married Robert “Bob” G. Barncard. They were married 61 years, and lived in Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas, New Jersey and Atlanta, before retiring to Baldwin County.

They loved sailing and were members of the Fairhope Yacht Club. She was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. She loved supporting the arts and had volunteered at the Eastern Shore Arts Center.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Barncard of the San Francisco Bay area; two grandchildren, Derek and Laura Barncard; two brothers, James “Jimmy” Quinn and Dale Quinn of Mississippi; “chosen” daughters, Nancy Trant and Susan Berent of Daphne; “extended family” Linda and David Steger of Atlanta; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their appreciation for the loving care given by Dr. Michael L. Mcbrearty and his staff, Nurse Wendi Johnson and Thomas Home Health Services and neighbor Audrey Drobisch.
