James Alva “Jim” Lambeth Jr., 55, a resident of Daphne, passed away Oct. 18, 2014.
Jim was born Sept. 12, 1959 in Mobile, where he spent his childhood and graduated from Theodore High School in 1979.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he was a sergeant in the Avionics Division of the Strategic Air Command, stationed in Grand Forks, N.D.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Alva Lambeth Sr.; mother, Lois Wooten Lambeth; and grandparents, Johnny and Gertrude Lambeth, and Joe and Belle Wooten.
He is survived by his daughter, Ashley Larson; two sons, Chris Lambeth and Chad Lambeth; their mother, Carolyn Lambeth; two grandchildren, David “Trip” Larson III and Bailey Larson; two sisters, Carol (Steve) Fledderman and Betty (Bill) Grant; brother, Jeff (Candy) Lambeth; his beloved girlfriend, Teri George Pierre; his best friend and “brother,” Wayne Lagman; and numerous nieces, nephews, many close relatives and friends.
He lived life to the fullest, cherishing every moment — the big ones and the little ones. He never met a stranger, and everyone who came into contact with him was drawn to his undeniable charm.
He loved his family, friends, fishing, singing and his Alabama Crimson Tide football.
He had an electric and captivating spirit that was sure to brighten anyone’s day. Laughter was never lacking when he was near; he was the life of every party.
“Life” — he was full of this word so often taken for granted, but he never missed a beat. He was passionate about the things he loved … big passion and even bigger compassion, a heart of gold.
He was hardworking and had a drive to succeed at anything he put his mind to, and he did just that. He never sweated the small things and had a way of making the big things seem easier. I guess you could say he was a pillar of strength.
One example that can be taken from knowing him is that no obstacle is too big with a positive attitude and a will to accomplish what you put your mind to. He was a leader and a mentor to many, and without a doubt has imprinted his legacy in the lives and hearts of the ones who had the privilege to know him.
“To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die.” And you daddy, will always live in our hearts, and the legacy you have left behind will never die. Until we see you again, we will love you with every breath we take. Love, Ashley, Chris and Chad
“May the road rise to meet you, May the wind always be at your back, May the sun shine warm upon your face, May the rains fall soft upon your fields, And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of his hand.” ~ An Irish Blessing.
