James Anton Sanca Jr., born Sept. 28, 1914, a lifelong resident, decorated WWII Navy veteran of Robertsdale, Ala., passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loved ones on Sunday morning, Aug. 30, 2015.
Preceded in death by his father, James Anton Sanca Sr.; his mother, Clara Sofia Merhaut; his brothers, Robert and Richard; and his sister, Clara.
James was 100 years old, married to Ethel Mae Pose Sanca, his beloved wife of 67 years; four children, Claudia Sanca Scott, Jamie Sanca Price (Ross), Janice Sanca Osborne (Randy), James “Tony” Anton Sanca III (Paula); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in the Narthex from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m., with memorial mass in church from noon till 1 p.m.
Reception in the center will immediately follow mass. God bless all who come.
